Brrrr.
I woke up this morning to no water. NONE. Had to brush my teeth at work this morning. It's 3 degrees with the windchill this morning, so maybe the pipes are frozen. I guess we will see when it warms up. If it warms up. I think it's supposed to get to 29 today maybe? I feel really disgusting today. I don't function well without my morning shower. Even if I shower before bed, I still want one in the morning. Ugh I feel dirty today. If I go home and still don't have water I'm going to my Mom's and taking a shower! Too bad I can't get in their hot tub. That would be nice, but I'm sure Gavin doesn't want to come out hard-boiled. I feel like I have Senioritis of the work-place today. It's a holiday week! I wanna go home!

36 week 3 day Dr appt
I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I'm getting pretty swollen too and I've been having a lot of headaches. So far no protein in the urine, so hopefully that'll stay away. I go back again on Tuesday. I guess we'll see if there's any progress between now and then! He's been crazy active lately but he's still head down. Yay!

Long overdue update
Sadie loves my snoogle pillow..
I've been too lazy to update this, so here goes...
We had the baby shower a couple weeks ago, got lots of great things! I think we are finally ready for him to be here. The only things we are "missing" are a changing table/dresser and a breast pump. Even those things we can live without.
Shannon started his new job about 3 weeks ago. He likes it ok so far I think, and our benefits kick in Jan. 1st so that will be nice. I miss riding to work with him everyday but it's ok.
Gavin looked good at the last appointment. I'm 35 weeks now, and starting to feel pressure sometimes. I guess we better get ready for him to come anytime now. I'm sure I have a good few more weeks but I want to be ready. Shannon gave the dogs a bath today so that's one less thing that will need to be done. They were so dirty. It's amazing how they can look clean but toss them in the bath and you realize they were filthy. Sadie is prancing around the house. She LOVES baths. You can tell she knows she looks pretty.
Oh yea, almost forgot. We had a pipe burst in our yard. Had to have the line replaced from the meter at the street all the way to the water heater. Our yard looks like a tornado chewed it up. It's awful. It's muddy and gross and full of holes. We had to have a giant willow tree removed to fix the leak, so it messed up rest of the yard while we waited on the city to come get it. I'll try to post pics but I'm my computer not Shannon's so they will probably be enormous. If so just click em I guess. It's just depressing because we are trying so hard to get out of debt and this just set us back another $2k that we will be paying on forever. :(

Dr. Appt
At my 32 wk 3 day appointment we found out Gavin has finally turned head down! YAY! His heart rate was great and I was measuring perfect, so all is well!

Here are a few pictures that sum up what's been going on around here. Shannon did his husbandly duty :P and built me the wall in the garage. He also started a new job today! I'm sad I don't see him at work everyday now but we need the better benefits.

This is the cat door going from the garage to the kitchen.

This is my Gracie hangin out with her Daddy!

The "wall" in the garage. Creative huh?

My Annie-bannanie (Sadie) ....she thinks my pregnancy pillow is hers!

Me and the Gavster at 31 ish weeks

Another try...
29 weeks 2 days
Stubborn stubborn boy!
Well, the Dr. appt went well today, aside from the fact he is STILL not head down! Dr. Cottam thought he was a bit more transverse than breech this time. Still not good, but I'll look at the bright side. Sideways is closer to head down than he was! Maybe he'll keep on moving. She made him really mad when she was trying to figure out his position. His heart rate shot up. Apparently he doesn't like being messed with. She said starting at 36 weeks she'll begin checking cervical position and when she does that she can tell what part is presenting. If she still thinks he's in the wrong position I'll have another ultrasound to check. I've been reading online about getting him to flip, and I'm supposed to crawl around on my hands and knees. Nice huh? I'm sure it's a funny sight. Supposedly only 15% of babies are still breech at this point, but only like 5% are breech at birth, so there is still hope! The bad part is she said that if he does decide to go head down at this point, it's really painful because there isn't a lot of room anymore.
Guess what I get for my birthday! Shannon is going to build a "wall" in the garage for me. Why is this exciting you ask? WELL. I have been a woman without a bathtub for a YEAR. We have the litter box in there so the dogs can't get to it. I'm tired of showers, and Gavin will need the tub, so we are going to put the litter boxes in the garage. Only problem is the cats are indoor cats and we need to be able to come and go from the garage. We went Sunday and got lattice at Lowes. We are making a wall (with a door to access the main part) in front of the cars. We'll put a cat door in the door leading in the house and that way they can go in and out to get to the litter but not in the "main" part of the garage. YAY. I'm so excited. Shannon's not thrilled about actually having to DO it, but even he will enjoy having a tub again! Plus it's all I wanted for my Birthday. :D My guest bathroom will no longer be stinky too! Woohoo!

Cutie Tooties
Mom and I went shopping for Gavin today. I registered online at Cutie Tooties (a cloth diaper store) quite awhile ago, but now she has a physical store too! I bought 2 dozen infant prefolds and a couple of covers, some snappi's and an all in one. I'm going to have to head over there every payday until we have what we need. This will save so much money in the long run though. I'm washing his prefolds now, you have to wash them at least 5 times before use so they are absorbent. I'm going to drag Shannon down there one Saturday so he can get a lesson in cloth diapering. The owner is very nice and she knows what she's talking about. (She cloth diapers triplets!)
We went a couple other places too but no luck. I'm trying to find a dresser that can be used as a changing table. If anyone sees one that's a good deal let me know!

Update
We had another Dr. appt this past Wednesday. He looks good, heart rate hovered right around 150. My Dr. is on vacation this week, but I really liked the Dr. I saw. She seemed very thorough and she explained things in a lot of detail. We had the "if he doesn't flip you have to have a c-section talk". He seems awfully comfy the way he is, but he's still got 80 days until he's due. 80 DAYS! That's IT! Ack! He doesn't even have a carseat yet. We have a lot to do and I can't believe we're in the double digits.

I PASSED!
Got the results this afternoon, I passed the 3 hour test! YAY! I officially do not have gestational diabetes.

Is no news good news?
I had the 3 hour test on Monday. It was a lot worse than the 1 hour. I had to drink twice as much stuff and it was a lot stronger. It was so sweet it burned my throat on the way down. YUCK. They drew my blood so many times I'm surprised I have any left. I had 3 sticks in each arm, and I'm all bruised now and look like a junkie. Lovely. They didn't call today and tell me I failed, so either I passed or the results aren't back from the lab yet. Will update with news when I find out!

Failed the test....
Well, I got a call from the Doctor's office this afternoon. I failed the 1-hour Gestational Diabetes test big time. Bombed it. Sooo.... Monday I have to go in for the 3-hour. She said to bring a book. It's going to be so boring. I don't know how I will stand not eating until about 1 pm. That's 12+ hours! Ugh. Cross your fingers for me I pass.

Ultrasound today!
The Echogenic bowel is GONE! YAY! He looks great. He's 2 lb 2 oz and in the 55th percentile. He's still breech, she said he looked pretty comfy that way. Now we start the every 2 weeks appointments. The gestational diabetes test was gross, but not as bad as I had heard. She had trouble getting my blood b/c I was so dehydrated, and I felt pretty sick before we left. Once I got some water and lunch I was fine though. Got a flu shot also, it wasn't too bad. Found out the Dr. is pretty strict on the labor. She won't let me use the jacuzzi or walk the halls or anything. That kinda stinks. Makes me think I'll end up getting the epidural. I'm pretty flexible, as long he's healthy I'll do whatever. If doesn't flip over though we'll be having a c-section, so cross your fingers he moves! I'll have to scan the ultrasound pictures from today and when I do I'll post them. He is a spitting image of Shannon, just wait! ... in 4D anyway :D

This past week...
Last week my Mom and I hit a humongous consignment event (the Duck Duck Goose sale). We got a stroller, a bassinet, a swing and crib. (the crib is for their house, Gavin will have 3 cribs!... work, home, and Grandma's!) Awesome deals, but the place was a zoo. The line was a block long to get in, same to check out. It was like the running for the wedding dresses you see on TV in New York. A madhouse. Hot, sweaty, crazy pregnant women racing for the "good stuff". Not sure you could pay me to do it again! Worth it as a first timer though, since we are starting from scratch on the baby stuff.
Tomorrow is our ultrasound! We are crossing our fingers the "echogenic bowel" has disappeared and the tech gets to see everything she needs. Hopefully he will hold still this time.
We finished painting the house last weekend, finally. I'm so glad it's over. Tomorrow we are taking off work and we're going to clean out the house (like massive Goodwill/dump trip). We are already busting at the seams in this house, so we need to get rid of unnecessary "stuff". Maybe I'm nesting, but I'm very excited to organize tomorrow!

Working on the house....
Next time you see our house, it will no longer be blue! We spent all weekend caulking the nail holes and seams in the siding. Next weekend, as long as it doesn't rain we will finish caulking and start painting. I'm worn out. It's hot out and not a fun job. The house needs it desperately though, and it will look so nice once it's finished. We are painting it a dark khaki with white trim and black shutters. I think it will look MUCH better. Will post pictures once we have finished!

Dr. appt today...22 weeks 3 days
Everything looked fine! It was a short appt. today, the next one will be long. I'll have the Gestational Diabetes test, the appt. with the Dr., and an ultrasound. She took my blood today because she thinks I may be anemic, so we'll see I guess. I'm going to attempt to add some pictures from his first ultrasound...he was about 6 weeks at the time.

Here's a picture of him now! 22 weeks, 3 days. *he's waving hi, I can feel it!*

We are working on getting his room ready. So far we have a Glider Rocker and a toy rack from Polly (THANK YOU!!!) and a crib! The crib we got at a secondhand store and got a GREAT deal. It's perfect! We went to a big consignment sale last Saturday...again thanks Polly for the heads up! We got an awesome highchair that matches what we've picked out for his bedding. We also got a baby gate, his crib mattress and some clothes! We had so much fun picking out stuff for him. Mom can't stand an empty mattress, so he already has a sheet and blanket... It's starting to come together! He even has 3 diapers!

Give me a bit to get this going!
This is our first blog, so give me a little time to figure it out and get some pictures on here. We wanted to do this so friends and family that aren't close by can watch Gavin grow and learn! Until then we'll watch ME grow!
